These boys were carrying racing birds down the street near the Jakarta Post offices . The birds seemed remarkably calm considering that the boy on the left had just finished holding his up to his mouth and shouting. Not shouting AT them; just shouting, the way kids do. Maybe they're used to it.

Perhaps the boy on the left was upset that his mom sent him out the door in a Minnie Mouse T-shirt?
Ha! Very observant, Jim. Although those cultural icons don't always seem to carry the same baggage here. You see teenage guys with pink Hello Kitty watches and so forth, which you would never see in the States.
On a related note, a friend who lives in China got called in by the local police chief. As he was doing his best to be gruff and intimidating, his cell phone rang ... with the theme from Titanic! She had to smother a laugh.
