I can't decide whether she's: a) just mentioning prayer to tweak the religious right even more, or b) asserting her right to her faith, no matter what they think of her dance style. Perhaps it's both.Trishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16218984943813920951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22419242.post-18117391034819039012008-04-01T07:19:00.000+07:002008-04-01T07:19:00.000+07:00ha! love the juxtaposition of the last two lines ...ha! love the juxtaposition of the last two lines against the mood of the rest of the song.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22419242.post-17091536177194593292008-03-30T12:43:00.000+07:002008-03-30T12:43:00.000+07:00Thanks for the enlightenment, Nadya! Its diverse influences of Chinese, Arabic, Indian and Malay reflects and summarizes the cultural history of this country like no other type of music does.

Campilicious!

PS: I might also add that "sayur" in the lyrics refers more to cooked vegetable soup that you see on dining tables as opposed to just raw vegetable. Sayur Lodeh, Sayur Asem, Sayur Bening etc .. which will indeed be unimaginably plain without garam!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
